Serious Injury Road Traffic Collision - A30 Victoria, Cornwall

At about 1:13pm on Wednesday 2^nd September 2020, Police were notified of a road traffic collision on the Eastbound carriageway of the A30 between Victoria and Innis Downs.

The collision involved a black Ford Transit and a white & red Mitsubishi Recovery Truck. The Recovery Truck was stationary with the recovery driver attending to a broken down black Peugeot 308 and its occupants when the Ford Transit collided with the rear of the Recovery Truck.  Significant damage was caused to all vehicles with the Ford Transit rolling on to its side.

The driver of the Ford Transit, a 64 year old male from Wales, escaped injury but sadly a 79 year old local female from the broken down Peugeot sustained serious injuries in the collision and is in a critical condition at Derriford Hospital.

Officers from the Alliance’s Roads Policing Team attended the scene and commenced an investigation of the scene with officers working to establish the cause of the collision.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision and may also have Dash Cam.
