At 8.43am on Saturday 5 September police were called to a road traffic collision involving a car and pedestrian.

The incident was reported to have occurred as a red Vauxhall Astra was turning into Montpelier Road from Beacon Park Road.

The pedestrian, an 87-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries and was conveyed to Derriford Hospital for onward treatment to Derriford Hospital where he remains at this time.

Local Police Officers, Operations department Officers and Specialist officer from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched an investigation.

Police are requesting that any witnesses with any information and or dash camera footage are to please come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene.
