Thousands of resident doctors have launched a five-day strike across England after pay talks collapsed.
Shadow development minister Dame Harriet Baldwin said the proposed pay rise is acceptable and urged doctors to stop patients from suffering, calling for talks over issues rather than disruptive industrial action.
