Event Centers to remain closed.

Starting later this evening.

Alabama's stay at home order ends in less than 11 hours.

But not for everyone.

Venues for sports, concerts, weddings and parties must remain closed for at least another two weeks.

Waay 31's rodneya ross is live in huntsville this morning with how the coronavirus has impacted one local event center.

This time of year is usually busy for event centers with proms, graduations, and weddings -- but since gatherings of 10 or more people are not allowed, these events were cancelled leaving business owners struggling to stay afloat.

Tiffany draper owns studio 53 -- an event center in harvest.

She just opened up in november -- and was booked solid -- until cornoavirus hit and forced her clients to cancel.

Now she's still waiting to learn when businesses like hers can reopen -- but she's not sure she'll even be able to survive long enough to open her doors again.

We don't sell any items we just sell a service.

We just provide a space for people to come and rent and if a large number of people can't come and congregate then that's my business and i don't have that to offer and so unfortunately we may not or probably won't survive this.

Draper applied for a small business loan but was denied because her business has not been open long enough.

Draper says if governor ivey does reopen event venues on may 15, she hopes to re- open but she'll require customers to wear masks and have social distancing guidelines in place.
