Has Brighton Pride has become too commercial?

This coming weekend is Straight Pride, that annual event when tens of thousands of non-lesbian women and non-gay men descend on Brighton to party under a rainbow flag, indulging in alcohol and drug-fuelled excesses. Of course there will also be large numbers of lesbian women and gay men present, as well as those who are coming to terms with their sexuality, and those who claim, erroneously, that they have changed sex, a biological impossibility.
