Russia has escalated the war in Ukraine with one of its biggest aerial assaults of the year, launching over 600 drones and missiles on western Ukraine, striking residential areas and even a U.S.-owned electronics plant near the Hungarian border.
At least one person was killed and 15 injured, including six night-shift workers at the American-run Flex factory.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of deliberately targeting American businesses, declaring that Putin does not seek peace but aims to install a Russian puppet in Ukraine.
The attack came just days after U.S. President Donald Trump met Putin in Alaska and hosted Zelensky and European leaders at the White House.
While Russia’s foreign minister claimed peace talks could happen, Zelensky said Moscow’s actions prove otherwise.
The strike has raised tensions in Washington and Europe, with leaders weighing stronger sanctions and new military guarantees for Kyiv.
