President Donald Trump has nominated State Department spokesperson and longtime Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce as the next U.S. deputy representative to the United Nations.
Bruce, a fierce defender of Trump’s “America First” policies, has served as State Department spokesperson since his inauguration in January.
Known for defending the administration’s tough stances on immigration, Russia’s war in Ukraine, and Israel’s Gaza offensive, Bruce is expected to bring combative rhetoric to the UN stage.
Her appointment will require Senate confirmation, where Republicans hold a majority.
Trump praised her “fantastic job” at State, while Bruce called the role an honor and vowed to continue advancing U.S. priorities abroad.
She will serve under Mike Waltz, Trump’s pick for UN envoy, whose confirmation is pending.
The move signals Trump’s push for loyalist voices in high-profile diplomatic posts at a time of intense geopolitical tensions.
