Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is urgently rallying European leaders ahead of Donald Trump’s high-stakes meeting with Vladimir Putin.
Speaking with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Zelensky warned of “the danger of Russia’s plan” to force Ukraine into discussing the “impossible” — territorial exchanges that would favor Moscow’s future war ambitions.
While Trump is expected to sit down with Putin soon, Zelensky is pushing for maximum coordination with the UK, US, EU, and other allies to secure a “truly lasting peace” and avoid any deal that simply reconfigures the conflict.
He also emphasized Ukraine’s progress toward EU membership, warning that Russia has not shifted its stance on ending the war and continues to fuel the fighting.
