BREAKING: Cambodia To Nominate Trump For Nobel Peace Prize After Brokering Ceasefire With Thailand

Cambodia is set to nominate U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, crediting his pivotal role in negotiating a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand after a deadly five-day border conflict.

Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol hailed Trump’s “great efforts for peace,” saying his intervention — including threats to pull out of trade talks — forced both Southeast Asian nations to come to the negotiating table.

The ceasefire, brokered in Malaysia, ended the region’s worst violence in over a decade, which left at least 43 people dead and displaced over 300,000.

Trump said the war “would have turned nasty,” but was halted by leveraging trade diplomacy.

This marks Trump’s third recent Nobel recommendation, following nominations by Israel and Pakistan for mediating other global crises.

The Cambodian leader also praised Trump for reducing tariffs on Cambodian exports, sparing the nation’s garment and footwear sector from economic collapse.
