Sharing their stories of escape from rising waters, good evening i'm alan van zandt.

As those victims are cleaning up what's left of their homes, we're starting to hear stories of how those affected came together in the midst of losing everything.

Kq2's ron johnson spoke to some of those flood victims and joins us in studio wih more, ron?

Alan those in the southside say they pride themselves on sticking together when times get tough, and that was surely put to the test this week.

<<it's likely been one on the toughest weeks for those that live in the southside sot as floodwaters from nearby contrary creek rushed in, neighbors that live down here said they did all they could to get to safety.

Sotthis couple who lives just across the street from where the flooding began said they've lost just about everything in the flood.

Sot their story of loss, just one of many across the neighborhood, but as the recovery process slowly gets underway, stories of neighbors helping neighbors are starting to emerge.those who were some of the first to get hit by the flooding, also say they were some of the first to help.

Sotthey say even while they were losing everything they own they still felt the need to forewarn others.sot and while the waters have receded, that help hasn't gone away.

People are coming together donating their equipment and their time to help each other sot these residents say it's that help that will get them through.

Sot>> that family we spoke with was able to escape to their home in their car as the waters were rising, they were able to find a temporary home for now.
