This Saturday, you can head out to Copper Canyon in Fort Wayne and for just $5, you'll be able to enjoy live music while helping out the Fort Wayne Pitbull Coaltion, who have taken a pretty big hit thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic

Covid 19 has impacted animal shelters across the area.that includes the fort wayne pitbull coalition.however the community is stepping up this weekend to help them out and you an help too.

Back in 20-10, the fort wayne pitbull coalition was formed to provide resources to the community to help pitbulls stay in their home.

Since then, they e turned into a rescue as well.

Megan close with the pitbull coalition says covid-19 shut down their adoption program because they couldn properly social distancehat didn't affect us as much as all of our fundraisers being canceled.

So we've lost about four fundraisers already this year that we usually have.

0:16 a 21 for them, that large chunk of money they need to keep their programs going and provide resources for the pitbulls who live in foster homes.

Ver the past three days, i e had about ten different people contact me about dogs that need to be rehomed.

Community is stepping up to help them.

Copper canyon is putting on a battle of the bands this weekend to benefit the pitbull coalition.

For just five bucks, you can go see six local bands play live music, enjoy food and drinks, and using donations, you can vote on which band is the best.

For christopher beyer of the paper heart and kristofer collier of the kickbacks, two of the bands performing this week nice to get back to doing gigs after the pandemic while helping the community onestly, it feels really good, especially for what this is.

All of the bande really close with each just playing with friends...we do a lot of bene something that we were never shy of doing, so we pretty much say yes to all of them.

We love to do benefits and help out the community and be involved.

1:04-1:10 all of the proceeds besides a portion of the alcohol sales, will go to help the fort wayne pitbull coalition and make up for some of the lost donations due to the pandemic to help turn life around for some pitbulls t's been amazing the support from the community, both the music community and the restaurant community, and and other businesses have come the others say let's do something fun.

Saylor fox 55 news the event this the event this saturday starts at 4 p-m and runs until 8 and will go on, rain or shine.if you plan to attend the event, you're asked to wear a mask and social distance when possible.
