Chico police are searching for answers after an early morning shooting... it happened just after midnight on the esplanade..

## along with glenn county - governor gavin newsom today added colusa county to the state coronavirus watchlist.

A total now of 23 counties are all being told to close indoor operations for some businesses, including restaurants and movie theaters -- bars must fully close.

The governor says these orders are mandatory.

The meeting will include reports from various department heads... and will focus on recovery progress and updates on current projects.### also happening today... inspections are now underway for those taking part in the camp fire hazard tree removal program.

County and paradise town workers are contacting those property owners who removed their own hazard trees to schedule inspections.

Arborists will verify hazard trees which pose a danger of falling -have been removed from the property.

## the california highway patrol is releasing new numbers for the maximum enforcement period for the 4th of july weekend..

From last friday at 6pm when the increased patrols started, the c-h-p says 36 people died on the road... and officers makde 738 arrests for dui.

25% of those killed... were not wearing seatbelts.

Coronavirus cases continue to surge across the country... on sunday the number of new covid-19 cases climbed past 48,000 in just 24 hours.

Many hot spots are now dangerously close to running out of hospital beds.

Those on the front lines are calling for a national mandate that everyone wear a mask in public.
