The onset of a worldwide pandemic made some donors reluctant to go into donor sites--- and the current climate unrest isn't helping either.

Kimt news three's george mallet payed a visit to the mayo clinic blood donor program this morning and is here with more.

The folks at mayo tell me the greater rochester community has been quick to answer the need for donations.

Those donors, though, are facing a new routine when they come in.

First off--- everybody is required to wear a mask-e.

Also---- you can no longer just walk in to make a donation.

Instead donors have to make an appointment.

Now, the donor center has been hurt by but please call them and let them know so somebody else can be booked in your spot.

The need for blood donations remains.
