Joseph today... kq2's ron johnson was at the protest today and has more on their message... he joins us live... that's right jodie i'm here at the corner of north belt highway and frederick avenue where just hours earlier protesters lined this corner speaking out against the killing of george floyd.

While it may have happened hundreds of miles away from here protesters here said the impact hits close to home <<ron johnson reportingthey gathered at the corner of belt highway and frederick with a message to share with others black lives do matter in this town.with signs in hand, (sot) and cries for justice for george floyd, a man they may have never met but they say are all too familiar with his story.

Protesters said its bringing the once again to the forefront.

Been here and it will never stop being here until we show the true light of what racism is.

For this group thoughts and prayers, and social media posts weren't enough.

They wanted to take their message to the streets something has to has to step up sometime.i contacted a few people i knew that had similar beliefs that are also just as upset as i am about it.

That message: taking a stand against racism and what they say causes it.

Pure ignorance is fuelling racismwhile at the same time they say, spreading a message of tolerance, encouraging others to be more understanding.
