STRATFORD ACADEMY HOLDS CAP, GOWN PICK-UP PARADE FOR GRADUATING CLASS

Seniors at Stratford Academy may not experience the graduation they wanted, but school staff members are finding ways to create memorable moments for the graduates.

And for bibb high school students... registration is free because of hardships from covid-19.

Seniors at stratford academy may not be getting the graduation experience they wanted, but staff members are helping with that.

41nbc's rashaad vann has more on how students were welcomed back to commemorate their four years of hard work in a unique way.

Nat: as part of a unique way to congratulate seniors, the 2020 class picked up their caps and gowns in a parade held by the school with the band, cheerleaders, parents, and teachers.

Matt newberry: right now we're all a little bit upset that we don't get the experience that everyone else has been telling us about for a whole lives but for sure j.t carter: it's pretty cool that they're doing this, they really shouldn't do this, you know they're all coming out here on wednesday doing this for us is pretty good.

As graduates and their families drove through the parade, staff members applauded and cheered with signs.

Bowlds: we've decided to traditionally be a monday activity of picking up your cap and gown and then adding a little razzle-dazzle of our own with faculty and staff in the band out here to really celebrate these seniors picking up their cap and gown and some senior packets.

Logan bowlds, head of school at stratford academy, explained the creative way of how the school came up with the idea.

Bowlds: normally cap and gowns are just handed out in homeroom or something like that and so what we decided to do since they have to come to campus this time it's really making it an exciting experience for them.

Once seniors got their cap and gown, some say, it felt unreal.

J.t carter: it's pretty crazy, you know, for years flew by pretty quick.

Matt newberry: i've had a great senior year, i love the school with all my heart, i will always be a strafford eagle, um, this place has always been my home for the past 14 years, i mean there's not enough good things to say
