You're taking a look at damage in marshall county.

This video is from the waay 31 skytracker.

It's day 2 of clean-up in boaz after an ef-2 tornado sunday night.

Several homes are damaged - some destroyed.

Waay 31's ashley carter joins us live after speaking with neighbors who say they're still processing what happened.

Ashley?

I'm standing the center of just one neighborhood in boaz that was hit.

I'm going to step out so you can see some of the trees and debris still left out on the road.

This damage goes on for miles.

People told me neighbors told me that this is how things look after a day of cleanup.

And as they geared up for day two...they were still in awe of what happened sunday night.

Jathan taylor, lives in boaz: "i don't know if it's hit me completely yet because it's so surreal."

Jathan taylor was home enjoying a movie sunday night when the storm moved through.

He described to me what it was like jathan taylor, lives on pleasant hill rd: "you hear everybody say, it sounded like a train, and that was the noise that i heard."

<vid over sound jathan taylor, lives on pleasant hill rd: "it was over in 10 seconds, it seemed like the longest 10 seconds i've ever experienced in my life, but you know it was still just 10 seconds."

Taylor said he's lucky his home wasn't damaged... but that wasn't the case for his next door neighbors jeremy and heather lacks, live on pleasant hill road: "our living room, the whole ceiling is in the floor."

The lacks told me they've been having to stay with family because of it...but they're remaining thankful jeremy and heather lacks, live on pleasant hill road: "it's tough, but even with that going on we're still blessed.

I mean we're alive and nobody got hurt taylor and the lacks say despite the ugliness of the situation...they're finding the beauty in the community coming together to clean up and help one another jathan taylor, lives on pleasant hill rd: "it's really really cool how the community can come together in a time of need.

Jeremy and heather lacks, live on pleasant hill road: "that's just the way it is around here, if somebody needs something they're going to get it."> people have been up and down this road all day - working to clear trees out from the roadway and people's homes.

They've made a lot of progress throughout today...but there's still a lot more cleaning up left to do.

At this time - they told me they're not sure how long it'll take.

Live in boaz ashley c waay 31 news.

Thanks ashley.
