Watch: 'Corona combat' drones spray disinfectant in Delhi's slums and markets

Municipal corporations in Delhi have been spraying disinfectant liquid over using special 'corona combat drones' over congested slums, unauthorised colonies and markets in view of COVID-19 outbreak.

Officials said that these are essentially 'agricultural application drones' which are used to spray pesticides on crops, but were adopted by China to halt the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Later, this model was successfully replicated in South Korea as well.

The liquid sprayed by the drones has no harmful effects on humans.

The sanitizing liquid being used is 'a solution of 1 per cent Sodium Hypochlorite in water, which through its soap-like action dissolves the lipid (fatty) outer layer of Sars-Cov-2 (the virus that causes Covid-19) and kills it.
