VARIOUS OF STILL PHOTOGRAPHS OF DUPONT SURFING BIG WAVE STORY: Justine Dupont, an experience 28-year-old French surfer, rode the highest wave of her life at Portugal's Nazare on Wednesday (November 13), and the moment was captured in a stunning POV (point-of-view) video.
"When I let go of the rope I felt that I was going faster than usual.
The GoPro flashed me at 66 kph [41 mph].
I was flying," Dupont told RedBull.com.
"A mad, intense wave.
The greatest wave of my life." The wave height will be known in May 2020 during the World Surf League (WSL) Big Wave Awards, the Surfline reported.
Currently Brazil's Maya Gabeira officially holds a world record for the largest wave ever surfed by a woman, with the giant 20.72-metre (68 foot) wave that she conquered in October 2018.
