An event celebrating diversity at riverside park in la crosse just wrapped up.
The center: 7 rivers l-g-b-t-q connection hosted pride at the park as part of its annual week-long pride celebration.
There were artists... merchants... food vendors... and an exercise session with a drag king.
The la crosse public library hosted an l-g-b- t-q history walking tour during the event.
One organizer says events like this...plus youth groups help young l-g-b-t-q people feel less isolated.
"growing up as a young gay person i didn't know any people that were like me, so when i see younger people i just have a lot of hope for them and a lot of love for them that they get to see that and they get to see a community coming together."
