Paris Records Its Hottest Day Ever

Paris Records Its Hottest Day Ever On Thursday, the City of Lights topped out at 108.6° Fahrenheit.

It was the hottest day in Paris' recorded history, handily breaking the record of 104.7° F, set in 1947.

A dangerous heat wave broke temperature records all over Western Europe and in the U.K. Met Office, Twitter Cities and towns in The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium broke heat records twice this week.

Belgian authorities issued a code red weather alert for the first time in 20 years.

Because of climate change, scientists contend that such heat waves will become more common.
