First Minister defends Scotland’s new hate crime law

First Minister Humza Yousaf has defended the Scottish Government's controversial new hate crime law which has come into effect today.

Critics have expressed concern that it would limit free speech and be used for vexatious complaints.

It also omits protection based on sex, although misogyny is expected to be tackled with a separate standalone Bill.
