Police were called to Southwell Road, Plymouth, at around 4.20pm yesterday, Monday 3 August, following a report of a burglary and assault.

The suspect fled on foot and a man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault causing actual bodily harm, at around 11.30pm at an address in the city centre. A 30-year-old man from Plymouth remains in police custody this morning.

A man in his 60s sustained a minor injury to his face during the incident and was treated in hospital.
