Real Oviedo is a Spanish professional football club based in Oviedo, Asturias. Founded on 26 March 1926, the club plays in La Liga, the first tier of the Spanish football league system, after winning the Segunda Division's promotion playoffs. The club plays at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere, opened on 30 September 2000, and is the largest sports stadium in Asturias. In the all-time league table for the Spanish top division, Oviedo ranks 18th, as it has played 38 seasons.
