Elon Musk and President Trump are set for one final appearance together at the White House this Friday.
Musk, who served as a Special Government Employee under the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), will officially step down.
Trump praised Musk on Truth Social, calling him “terrific” and promising he’ll “always be with us.” Musk thanked Trump for the opportunity and called for government-wide cost-cutting to become a permanent practice.
His departure comes amid his criticism of Trump’s new “Big Beautiful Bill,” which he says threatens DOGE's mission.
