South Koreans protest joint military exercise with the United States

Outside the presidential palace in Seoul, South Koreans protest the annual Ulchi Freedom Shield drills held by their country and the United States.

The exercises are aimed at countering growing threats from nuclear-armed North Korea, but those protesting believe they "could spark a nuclear war at any moment".

The drills continue until the end of August.
