The Ala-Archa Nature Park is located 17 km from the city limits, at an altitude of 1600-4800 m and covers an area of more than 16,493 hectares.
The name of the park in translation from the Kyrgyz language means “variegated juniper”, in honor of the plant growing here at almost every step.
Sooooo beautiful place, the area of the ennobled walking path is small, but after it you can go up the river (on the rocks) or walk towards the mountains and climb a couple of hills.
Entry through the barrier costs 500 SOM, but walking is not an option, it is very far and cars drive quite fast.
Taxi drivers from Bishkek usually agree to take them for 2000-2500 som (+500 som for the barrier), wait 2-3 hours while walking.
