Chairman of the European Research Group Mark Francois says "whoever becomes PM…we will unite behind them and assist them in seeking to unite the conservative party".
Speaking in a brief statement, Francois said the group was unable to agree on a collective endorsement for one candidate but that they were satisfied that both Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt are committed to uniting the party.
