Historic Pollocksville Depot Relocation
Historic Pollocksville Depot Relocation

The Pollocksville Depot was built in 1893 next to the Trent River, and weathered many storms before Hurricane Florence rolled through in 2018.

In the resulting flood, the depot was submerged in water up to its rafters and badly damaged.

The Town of Cary proposed to move the 25’x82′ depot to a higher location and renovate it for use as the town hall and a museum.

Wolfe relocated the building ¼ mile uphill to its new location on Main Street.

The move was completed with the remote-controlled Buckingham Power Dolly System, using 5 Buckingham Dollies with the SmartSteer™ System.
