Fire on 2nd ave in frankfort, massive flames, puppy saved

Second ave extention in frankfort.

911 calls came in just after four this afternoon.

This picture sent in to us just before firefighters arrived... the fire chief tells me after interviewing neighbors that the fire started on the front porch...it spread quickly.

So fast in fact the upstairs residents had to climb out the second floor down a neighbors ladder.

Multiple crews responded.... the chief says there is heavy damage in the front of the home.

Smoke and water damage to the rest of the home.

Nobody was injured...this could have been much much worse.

There was some good news... both upstairs family pets a cat and a puppy were rescued.

Fire fighter marcus perritano rescued the puppy from under the couch and they gave him oxygen and cleaned off his face.

Must have been meant to be as conincidentally this is national puppy day.
