WAAY 31 is finding out more about Huntsville Hospital's plan of action now that it has been announced they will receive a reduced amount of COVID-19 vaccines.

Waay 31's olivia schueller spoke to the v-p of operations at the hospital on why they're recieving fewer doses.

They show the amount of vaccine providers in the state of alabama.

Huntsville hospital said they're receiving fewer doses of the vaccine, so that more vaccines can be distributed to other clinics in the state.

The hospital will only receive enough vaccines for one- thousand doses per week.

That is less then half of the hospitals previous amount.

They will also stop scheduling any new vaccine appointments until march twenty-second.

Tracy doughty, vp of operations huntsville hospital there are more sites coming online to give the vaccine and the state..they'll give the exact same amount.

So the exact same amount being spread across more sites.

So we're reducing our allocation.

- the hospital said despite the decrease in the amount of vaccines they have at hand.they're committed to vaccinating as many people as they can.

The hospital said if you already have an appointment made for your booster or primary dose of the coronavirus vaccine.come at your scheduled time unless contacted by the hospital.
