Bentz funeral home in new hartford.... damsky died on christmas day... just two days shy of his 87th birthday.... which would have been on sunday.
Damsky served in the oneida county legislature for 22 years.... and was also very active in the community as a board member of saint luke's hospital.... utica college.... and munson williams proctor arts institute.... among others.
Oneida county executive anthony picente released a statement saying quote... "mike damsky was a great gentleman, a real renaissance man .
He was a true family man and business leader who gave back to his community tenfold.
He led by example on the board of legislators, making decisions based on what was best for all and not a select few.
Eleanor and i willisa very defriend whot to his wife evy (evee) and their family."
We spoke with mike damsky's son scott.... who says his dad loved representing his district and improving his community.
