News channel 2's caitlin irla joins us live here in the studio with more from tonight's board of education meeting.

Last week the sauquoit valley central school district announced thathl january 4th.

Now, the district will remain fully remote until at least january 11th.

Sauquoit valley superintendent, ron wheelock, says this is because it's been difficult maintaining a full staff due to the rise in positive cases after thanksgiving, and he is concerned the same thing will happen following christmas and new year's.

What i can envision is perhaps an outbreak right after new yearsos right around christs time that l notifications will be sent out to the school community tomorrow.

The board also voted unanimously tonight to cancel all winter sports, not only because of coronavirus concerns, but fiscal concerns as well.
