Due to COVID-19, the school district has been having a hard time finding substitute teachers.
The district hope by increasing pay for substitutes they will be able to retain individuals that are more qualified.

Superintendent les huddle says this will help teachers who have had to take on extra responsibilities.
"we know it's frustrating for our teachers who are in the building and one of their colleagues is gone and maybe we have to have them cover part of that class."
Daily substitute teachers will now receive 100 dollars a day.
Long-term substitutes which sign on to fill a vacancy for 6 weeks or longer will receive the same rate as first year teachers on a per-diem rate.
