Others shared that some residents feared what took place when they weren’t in their room.

Families are speaking out about how their loved ones were treated inside a junction city assisted living home... that's been shut down for several days.

Kezi 9 news reporter kennedy dendy is live outside of the facility with tonight's continuing coverage.

Kennedy.

Renee-- the oregon department of human services shows all types of violations involving neglect and abuse here inside junction city retirement and assisted living.*42 residents here had to be evacuated due to a power outage this week and they're not back yet.

This led to things like medicine going bad and residents not being able to access their oxygen.

I spoke to two women whose mother lived here for about four years.

She died in july.

They say staff would wake their mother up at around 4:30 in the morning to get dressed..

Something their mother*hated.

They say she talked about the bad quality of food..

And major delays getting her meals.

And... these recent allegations hit too close to home.

"they started having a horrible turnover.

And that reflected in how the residents were being cared for.there were a lot of delays.

And even in the kitchen.

Once i started on the quarantine.

The residents would be fed in their rooms and mom said that there would be times that it would take an hour and a half or more for her to get her meal."

She says she has friends who used to work there -- who she trusts took*great care of her mother.

But she says the allegations she's hearing about from others are horrifying.

According to dhs reports one resident ended up in the hospital after they didn't get their medication.

"i would have been furious if i had any indication that anything like that was happening with my mom.

You don't abuse your elders in any way shape or form.

They deserved the care that they were paying for basically because it's not cheap to live in those places."

D-h-s has put new conditions on the facility... including restrictions on any new admissions/ they are required to have an administrative r-n consultant to advise the facility on improvements and they must send reports every two weeks.

Plus, there is mandated abuse reporting training.

And a required audit on medications and the pharmacy.
