Purdue Space Days Goes Virtual This Year

Szalavari, news 18purdue's 25thr 24th won't look like normal..

It'll be virtual this year.

The event will be broadcast on youtube.

It's give students grades three through eight an inside look at stem related topics that includes aeronautics and astronautics.

Four former astronauts will be guests at the virtual event.

More than 25- hundred students have signed up already.

That's a new record.

Several household items are required.

However, purdue plans to mail students packages before space day kicks off.

Chell nyquist is the director of the event.

He says this year's record turnout will be able to interact with the special guests, in a unique way.

Chell -- we'll have some presentations by the astronauts in the beginning, they will do an activity, we will bring back astronauts to answer additional questions during the lunch period, and then they will do a couple more activities and then we will let the astronauts sort of end the day with the students.

The event is free to the public and registration is open.

It'll run from 10 am to 3:30 pm.
