Hundreds of student freshers were seen lining a Nottingham city street on Tuesday (September 29), as Nottingham Trent University freshers events went underway despite coronavirus restrictions.

The event at the Rock City club was a seated-only event and due to restrictions on numbers being inside the venue, a long queue had formed outside.

Freshers reps, Nottingham city council officers and NTU staff were seen trying to enforce the safety guidance but it didn't prevent large numbers of students from gathering.

Nottingham Trent University was recently under fire for going ahead with freshers events despite having no testing facilities in place for students yet.
