Here at the federal prison the death penalty action group been here in terre haute for each of these executions.

And they are out here again along with others around the community protesting against capital punishment.

This morning...protestors were right here....and held a press conference.

That's where christopher vialva's mother....lisa brown....spoke powerful words to the victim's family...and about her feelings ahead of her son's impending execution.

[take pkg incue: christopher vialva outcue: see him again *bite* duration:1:39] christopher vialva and one other man were convicted of carjacking and murdering todd and stacey bagley in 1999.

Vialva was just 19 years old.

His mother, lisa brown spoke to media on thursday morning.

She spoke about the message she passed along to bagley's family.

"this is the first venue in which i could say to todd and stacey's family, i am so sorry for your loss.

I've never been able to tell you that because i was told i could not have access to you.

My son wants you to know that he is deeply remorseful for the pain that he has caused you."

Brown continued to speak about the injustices she feels were involved in her son's case.

She says christopher vialva is not the 19 year old who committed this crime...and that's what gives her peace heading into his execution.

"what they failed to even calculate into the process is that there is an ability to be redeemed and rehabilitated.

My son has been renewed.

He is a new man.

He has changed and he's redeemed and i believe that with all my heart and that's why i'm able to let him go.

I believe that the father is taking him home and i'm okay with that.

There's a peace in knowing that i will see him again."

Lisa brown will be a witness to christopher vialva's execution as well as her sister....and vialva's primary minister.
