This morning - the controversial confederate statue still remains in place in front of the madison county courthouse, despite numerous protests over the past two months.

Another protest was held last evening.

Joining us now is minister frederick whitlow with the rosa parks day committee.

Minister whitlow - good morning.

It appears that there's some sort of stalemate on this issue.

Both the madison commission and huntsville council voting on a resolution to remove it, but the state monument protection act keeps it in place.

Where does your group go from here?

Last check - the attorney general said they did not hear from the commission.

Did you get involved with the attorney general yet?

Apparently there is money that has been raised - the 25- thousand to pay for a fine to remove the statue.

What action is needed to move forward with that?

There there's talk about getting rid or amending the law.

That could take months if it even happens.

Is that a viable solution?

How long will your group continue to protest and try to get elected officials to act?

Thanks for joining us this morning.
