Civil Guard cops uncover a clandestine tobacco factory on a farm in northern Spain.The factory was found on an old disused farm in the province of Lleida in the north-eastern Spanish region of Catalonia.The Civil Guard and the Spanish Tax Agency coordinated in the raid and officers seized 335,880 packets of illegal tobacco and a sum of $85,634 as well as making seven arrests.At the end of 2019, the European Police Agency (Europol) informed the Spanish authorities about the alleged presence of the international criminal organisation based in Catalonia.The organisation, made up of Lithuanian and Polish gang members, are accused of selling the tobacco on the European black market, particularly in Spain and France.
