Kezi reporter evita garza, who is live in roseburg with the latest on the outbreak at mercy medical center.

Matt, renee& i told no patients were exposed to the virus inside mercy medical center.

In fact, all of the cases associated are employees.

One person was infected during they time off and came back to work and gave it to their co-workers kathleen nickel, a spokeswoman for the hospital said that employee is the only one who has tested positive so far.

Six other employees are considered presumtive cases.

Nickel said they believe the one employee who tested positive got the virus from an event they attended on their day off.

She says the employee came in contact with an out of state traveler who was later tested positive for covid-19.

All seven employees are quarantining for 2 weeks right now.

But public health officer bob dannenhoffer and hospital ceo kelly morgan said in a statements the hospital doing everything they can to get the outbreak under control.

Dannenhoffer: we believe it is still safe to seek care at mercy because they were prepared and they are supporting additional testing while also supporting their staff in quarantine.

Kelly morgan:?since the coronavirus was identified, our organization has been focused on ensuring the safety of our employees and our patients?

Mercy medical center is the third workplace outbreak in douglas county.
