Its part of a three-day plan to fight coronavirus spread.

Wayne hereford joins us live from campus where he talked with students, parents, and administrators about facing the pandemic on a college campus.

Northeast mississippi community college administrators say they planned for this day for the past five months.

The three-day schedule calls for students moving into the first floor of residence halls, then the second floor, and finally the third floor.

The unnormal."

"i'm excited that we get to actuallys start and go on with college."(dallys hicks-freshman) dallys hicks is a fresmasn moving into mississippi hall at northeast for the fall semester.

Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, its a fall like none other.

" yes we have to take precautions but i'm glad that we get to start."

Sophmore students are wondering about the pandemic too.

(kaitlynn grice-sophmore) "its been kind of crazy.

I kind of walked around with it and didn't have my mask on and i had to realize that we have to come to school with our mask on .

Its hot moving around with this mask sometimes ..but other than that it still feels normal" and that's just part of life on campus this year at northeast where school administrators have prepared for the coronavirus.

Student service nemcc) "the precautions we've taken we've tried screening protocols with our students every morning.

Its emailed to the its texted to them.they respond back to us with a questionaire about covid.

And covid related items."

The dorms are sanitized... and common areas are constantly cleaned at least twice a day.

Students will observe social distancing... there will be hand sanitizing stations and the school will provide free masks.

Its all about making school normal during a pandemic which pleases one parent we talked to.

(ronnie grice-baldwyn) "its a little scary but we need to get used to the unknown."

Now face to face classes start next monday august 3rd and online classes will begin on august the 24th.
