BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING
BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING
what kids will need this fall , when they go back to school

Will actually be needed.

Nbc's dan scheneman reports :00 :28 :35 before students go back to school..parents usually do a little back to school shopping.

Sound mos :06 "i look forward to shopping."

Sound mos:08-:12 "they enjoy having fun backpacks and things of that sort."

And while it's not clear if classes will be at home...or in home room...many parents expect to spend more.

Sound rod sides - deloitte consulting : 28-:31 so we actually saw the spending go up about 2% for a total of $529 per family which was a little surprising for us we thought it would be down a little bit, given where we were in the spring and given the unemployment.

Experts say it's a good time to shop.

They also have supplies so the fact of the matter is that people are still shopping.

And retailers are offering incentives...steep discounts...curbside pick up and cash back.

Sound sara skirboll - retailmenot.com :49-1:01 it's just another way to keep money in your pocket so you're going to see a lot of retailers offering buy online earn cashback so it's a big online shopping play for you to shop with a company, and then they're going to reward you.

And you're going to earn money on those purchases.

But those purchases...may not mean pens and paper.... sound rod sides - deloitte consulting 1:05-1:14 "we saw that the traditional school supplies were in decline by about 12%.

And that was really made up for by the amount of hardware that before purchasing computers etc but one thing retailers can't fix..the uncertainty about the next school year.

Sound mos :1:20-1:25 if the kids are going to go back, or if they're going to stay home.

So i'm really anxious.

And to find out if
