Committee cancels Remsen Barn Fest

The Remsen Barn Festival committee canceled the annual event that was scheduled in September, and is now looking into holding a virtual event.

Months out -- the decision has been made to not hold the annual remsen barn festival in the traditional way because of coronavirus concerns.

It was supposed to take place september 26th and 27th on main street.

--hundreds of crafters and food vendors.....draw thousands of visitors each year.

Now, the committee is considering a virtual event.

Sot: debbie cotton, remsen barn fest organizer we face the same issues as all organizations that were involved with mass gatherings, and it just becomes impossible to meet the requirements and keep everybody safe for such an event.

Organizers are shooting for a july 15th deadline to know whether or not the virtual barnfest will take place.
