Tonight -- we're working to learn more about coronavirus cases at the toyota motor manufacturing plant in huntsville.

The company confirmed the cases to waay-31 earlier this evening.

Waay 31's will robinson-smith is live outside of the plant.

He spoke with a representative of the facility about the cases.

Will, what did they tell you?

A spokesperson for the plant says the company won't release much information about the employees here who have contracted the coronavirus.

They say that would be a violation of the privacy of their workers.

It was 45 days ago today when toyota motor manufacturing welcomed employees back into its pulaksi pike facility after the company suspended at all of it plants due to the coronavirus' impact on demand.

Today, the company confirmed that some of its about fourteen hundred employees tested positive for coronavirus.

In late april, toyota gave waay 31 a tour of its facility to demonstrate the additional safety features put in place, like the temperature check-in site and new plexiglas dividers for work stations.

The company declined an on- camera interview on wednesday to discuss the new cases.

They also would not say specifically how many employees tested positive, how many are currently quarantined or when they were diagnosed.

In a statement a spokesperson for the company says they have added safety measures since they reopened.

Starting on june 8, they rolled out a plan called "safe anywhere."

It's a guide on how employees can put some best practices into play while they're outside the plant.

Some of those safety recommendation are things other public officials have suggested as well.

Things like wearing a face- covering while out in public, avoiding large crowds and choosing outdoor dining when able.
