The sun is back on our side, so now is a good time to plant.

Health.

With the sun finally back on our side... its a good time to get planting!

In this weeks in the garden we have some suggestions for plants that are a little less work to maintain.

Hi guys, thanks for joining us.

I'm emma withrow and i'm here with caleb johnson with johnson brothers garden market.

And as it's heating up and we're all getting busier, we're going to be talking about some plants right here that are a lot less maintenance.

So caleb talked to me about why some of these different varieties are not going to require as much effort for people.

Yeah, a lot of these plants here like to be on the dry or side so you don't have to water them as often and most these plants you don't have to you know, deadhead which is you know, cleaning off the old blooms, you can just kind of water them occasionally and just enjoy the the blooms without a lot of trimming or or maintenance.

Is there certain areas that they should go or should they go in pots?

Yeah, a lot of these make great container plants they can go in borders and most of these want to be in in full sun so they actually want to be in six to you know, all day sun six hours of sun or more.

And when you say limited watering, what does that consist of like once a day, twice a day?

It depends on the plant and the where it's planted, but let's just take like this kufa or millionaire here, for example, if it was in a container, you could water it maybe once every three to four days, and it would most likely be fine.

So same thing with this.

Angela.

Sonia over here looks like it like wants a lot of water, but actually, it will start to leak.

So search turn yellow, and it'll be very unhappy if it's getting water every day.

So a lot of these plants can go two to four days in between waterings under our normal summer weather, it's pretty good.

Do any of them require fertilizers?

Yeah, they're all blooming plants.

So they're all going to want some consistent either a slow release feed or liquid feed to keep the blooms going.

Right.

Thanks so much, caleb and thank you guys for joining us.
