5 terrorists neutralised in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian on June 10.

Briefing about the operation, Brigadier Ajay Katoch informed that terrorists killed in encounter were involved in brainwashing and coercing local youth in joining terrorist ranks.

"They were involved in numerous acts, including killing of apple traders last year, threatening innocent civilians, businessmen and shopkeepers.

They were also involved in brainwashing and coercing local youth in joining terrorist ranks.

There were also reports of them being involved in the abduction of Police personnel and carrying out standoff attacks, grenade attacks on security forces pickets," he said.
