Restaurants can have about 50% capacity inside starting June 10.

Operates" thank you for joining us for kimt news 3 at five.

I'm george mallet.

We begin tonight with breaking news.

Another round of reopenings is on the horizon for minnesota.

Xxx just a few hours ago ?

"* governor walz announced phase 3 of the stay safe minnesota plan will roll out june 10th.

It allows for the safe reopening of gyms ?

"* entertainment venues ?

"* and indoor dining at restaurants.

Just as restaurants started wrapping up their first week of outdoor dining... they're getting the news they've been waiting for... they can soon start letting patrons back inside.

They must maintain social distance ?

"* require reservations ?

"* and seat no more than 50 percent occupancy.

Kimt news 3's annalise johnson is checking in with a local restaurant owner.

She joins us live.

Annalise?

Yeah amy ?

"* i'm here at the smoak bbq patio.

The staff here are excited and ready to open up their indoor space as well in just a matter of days.

Ryan brevig is one of the owners of smoak ?

"* five west*- and the loop in rochester.

I spoke to him just an hour before walz's announcement ?

"* as he anxiously waited to see what the governor would say.

Brevig has been planning ?

"(how to safely reopening dining rooms ever since they were required to close back in march.

Staff wear masks ?

"* had washing is frequent ?

"* and anyone handling food wears gloves.

Xxx some of these procedures, we're just going to keep in place even when this covid is gone, some of these health procedures are going to be good for us long term.

We see that.

I think our customer base is getting more health conscious and aware of that too and we want to be respectful of that brevig tells me the restaurants still aren't likely to turn a profit on 50% capacity.

However ?

"* they ?

"(may be able to break even ?

"* and its good step toward getting back to normal.

Live in rochester annalise johnson kimt thank you annalise.

Let's take a quick look at some of the other reopenings and restrictions starting june 10th.

Gyms can open at quarter capacity.

So can entertainment venues like theaters ?

"* concet halls ?

"* bowling alleys ?

"* museums. if you're hoping to get a haircut soon you're in luck.

Salons and barbershops can open at 50 percent cacapcity while requiring reservations.

Places of worship will be able to let more people in... up to 50 percent capacity in fact.

Again ?

"* all of these changes take effect
