Months...there's been plenty of time for spring cleaning, right?

I started...i have yet to finish.

But those of you who have...are dropping a lot of donated items off at thrift stores.

Abc 36's austin miller explains how that abundance has become part of a new norm.

And the donations keep pouring in at goodwills across lexington..

With some back rooms stacked to the ceiling.

Amber mcbride trt- 06 "we are doing the best we can to keep up with everything.

We have got a huge influx of donations."

It's been nearly three weeks since goodwill reopened..

And several workers remain in the back..

Doing all they can to help get those donations out on the racks.

Senior store manage amber mcbride says a big reason why donations are so high right now..

Is because staff asked people to hold off donating.

Amber mcbride trt- 11 "a lot of them did.

A lot of them held onto their donations.

They've been bring them to us, so they've been cleaning out for a few months.

We're gladly accepting everything that they have."

Mcbride says goodwill is doing extensive cleaning on each item..

To make sure they're properly sanitized once they reach a customer.

They're also cleaning throughout the day..

Out front.

In fact..

Workers are required to have masks..

And to have their temperature checked each day.

Amber mcbride trt- 13 "we're going the extra mile on the small things that people wouldn't think about.

You just grabbed a pen that someone else has used.

We're going the extra mile and making sure that we're wiping those pens down, juust making sure that everyone is staying safe."

By promoting a safe place to shop..

Mcbride hopes customers can help clear off some of the racks..

So they get more of the donations out.

Amber mcbride trt- 07 "we have had some amazing times with our customers.

They are really, really helping us out."

In lexington..
