Businesses plan on reopening at 50% capacity in order to maintain social distance.

In flash flooding.

Starting today -- entertainment venues in alabama are allowed to reopen their doors under governor kay ivey's amended safer at home order.

Waay 31's rodneya ross is live outside stand up live in huntsville this morning.

Rodneya -- what safety measures are they taking to keep guests safe?

Stand up live actually reopened with their first live show last night -- something they haven't been able to do in months.

But before reopening, they spent lots of time planning on how to do it safely.

Because stand up live makes most of its money from their restaurant -- they were able to reopen before most entertainment venues.

But the guidelines for social distancing still applied to them.

The manager told us they reduced seating to less than a third of their capacity and made sure all employees had gloves and masks.

We talked to a guest who visited the venue for the first time after being impressed by their safety measures.

That's one of the big things we're looking for is just to make sure it's safe for everybody.

Not just us, for everybody.

Under the amended order -- venues must operate at 50 percent capacity, employees must wear face coverings, employers are encouraged to screen employees for coronavirus symptoms and maintain six feet of distance between guests.

Full entertainment venues can reopen to the public today at five p-m.

The order expires july 3rd.
