Walton's Greenhouse says business has picked up since the coronavirus outbreak.

Because of the coronavirus, that means there is more time to garden.

Wtva's chelsea brown is live in tupelo at one greenhouse that has seen an increase in business.

Here at walton's greenhouse... describe i spoke with one employee here about why the greenhouse has been so busy over the past few weeks.

Walton's greenhouse) phillip tucker- walton's greenhouse "business has been pretty much overwhelming at times."

Phillip tucker says that business has been booming.

"sold 3 times more product this year than they have in an entire year..

I think they are at home looking for something to do" tucker says that one of the more popular plants are tomatoes, and that customers have been doing more gardening so they don't have to buy produce from stores.

Nat sound typically walton's greenhouse gets their plants from their greenhouses in itawamba county.

Because the greenhouse has been so busy they have had to buy some plants from outside suppliers, but they are working on building their inventory back up.

"hopefully within a couple more weeks we will be able to supply from our own supply" tucker says he got a call on monday from a florist in memphis asking for a specific type of flower and color and the greenhouse was out.

"somebody from memphis is calling here is tupelo, something is hard to find."

Tucker says after mother's day business typically slows down, but with many people that have just started gardening... he expects business to stay steady.
